Description
This position requires manual labor activities from time to time within the Environmental Industry.
Drive, operate and maintain Vacuum Tanker, Rolloff or Van. Load and unload contents of hazardous and non hazardous materials. Connect and disconnect 2”, 3” and 4” cam lock hose.
Be available for Emergency Response and the availability to perform “on-call” up to one weekend a month.
Preform and assist hazmat technicians to drain tanks, connect hoses to water, steam lines and to vacuum vehicle. Pressure wash walls, ceiling, and bottom of various tanks to flush residues such as oils, grease, sludge, and miscellaneous chemical materials through tank openings.
Preform and assist with scraping and shovel walls and floors to remove incrustations, miscellaneous chemical materials, and coke or catalyst.
Preform and assist with sweeping or shoveling debris, sludge or miscellaneous chemicals into buckets, wheelbarrows, or down chutes.
Perform or assist with remove of chemical residues and other liquids from tank bottoms with squeegees or pump and suction hose.
Perform or assit with diring Tanks with wood shavings, portable air drying equipment, or hand drying.
Perform or assist with confined space entry into storage tanks, boilers, industrial processing tanks, kilns, railroad tanks and cars.
Perform or assit with conducting atmospheric monitoring to determine atmospheric concentration levels.
Conduct work in atmospheric concentration levels that would require the use of a air purifying or supplied air respirator.
Handle heavy cargo, secure cargo.
Drive vehicles ranging from pickup trucks to commercial motor vehicles depending on specific employee qualifications.
Requirements
Valid CDL Class A License
Valid Tanker & Hazmat Endorsement
One year verifiable Tanker and Hazmat Experience
Four points or less on driving record
One accident or less on driving record
No DUI in past seven years.
Ability for “out of town” work up to five to ten days a month.
